Skeen Retires After Nearly Four Decades of Service 3/17/2009
Longtime farm office manager, Toni Skeen Toni Skeen, Runnymede’s farm secretary since 1973, has decided to retire from full-time work. Her 35 years managing the farm’s daily office duties are truly appreciated by the entire staff at Runnymede. She plans on spending more time with her family and is especially looking forward to playing with her four grandchildren.
Toni, a first-generation Italian, grew up on a dairy farm in Millbrook, NY, a smaller town than Paris. In fact, her parents are still in New York and thriving in their upper 80s. Toni met her husband, a Lexington, KY, native after graduating from Albany Business College, and the couple moved their young family to Paris in the early 1970s.
Toni’s part-time position at Runnymede evolved into a full-time job, taking care of every facet of the business, including all accounts, billing, payroll, and horse records. She loved when the farm stood its own stallions, having to manage their books. Angle Light was among her favorites.
Runnymede wishes Toni and her family every happiness and success upon her well-deserved retirement, and thanks her for her outstanding service.
