Ordination is Impressive in Return

Catesby W. Clay and Runnymede Farm’s homebred Ordination (Ire) posted a very impressive victory in his first start off a seven-month layoff, winning a $40,000 allowance race at Gulfstream Park on February 19th.

The five-year-old gelding pressed the pace to the top of the stretch, swung outside and simply outfinished the favorite, Silver Mountain by a determined head. Final time for the 1 ½-mile turf test was 2:27 4/5 over firm going.

Christophe Clement now trains the son of Fantastic Light following Ordination’s successful season on the West Coast with trainer Eoin Harty, who saddled him to an allowance victory and a strong fourth in a Grade III event.

Out of Runnymede’s own Seeking the Gold mare Seek Easy, Ordination hails from the tremendous family of champions Fanfreluche, L’Enjoleur, La Voyageuse, and Medaille d’Or.

Ordination began his career in England with trainer Brian Meehan. He was second by a neck in his debut at three, and broke his maiden in his second attempt.
