Yearlings Ready for Keeneland
Wednesday, July 20, 2016

Our crop of 20 sale yearlings has been busy working during the final stage of preparation for the Keeneland September marketplace, and we are pleased to have several stars as well as very promising prospects at every level of the market.

The undeniable marquee yearling of the group is our Ghostzapper colt out of Sacre Coeur, thus a half brother to Lady Eli, a multiple Grade 1 winner who captured last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) while defeating a top group of rivals including eventual Epsom Oaks (G1) winner Qualify.

Hip 577, Ghostzapper colt out of Sacre CoeurThe handsome dark bay or brown colt is also a half brother to our multiple graded stakes winner Bizzy Caroline, and his immediate family includes European Group 1 winner and sire Palace Episode and Kentucky Derby (G1) runner-up and millionaire Tejano Run.

As part of our “terrific trio” in Book 1, the Ghostzapper colt will sell as Hip 577 on the third day of the auction.

First up in our consignment is a dazzlingly handsome colt by international superstar So You Think, the only one in the Keeneland catalog. He is out of our young mare Lady of Akita, a half sister to champion and $8 million earner Agnes Digital, and is catalogued as Hip 378.

Also in Book 1 is a lovely Elusive Quality filly who is the second foal of New York stakes-placed One in a Romp, a three-quarter sister to our Grade 1-placed, stakes-winning mare Pinch Pie. She will be offered as Hip 492.

Our Book 1 horses can be inspected in Barn 21.

We have six strong prospects in Book 2 that will be stabled in Barn 29, including yearlings from the first crops of Bodemeister, Shackleford and To Honor and Serve. The Book 2 group also includes a beautiful, runway-ready Mineshaft filly who is the first foal of Pinch Pie.

The next six yearlings are in Book 4 and also will be in Barn 29. This group includes colts by City Zip, Old Fashioned and Warrior's Reward, and fillies by Broken Vow, Gemologist and Flower Alley.
