Having a horse run on Preakness Day at Pimlico was very exciting for the As One Racing partnership, but having a horse finish third in a competitive Grade 3 race is even more exciting! Bipartisanship, the five year old Bated Breath mare out of Dream Wild had a great run in the Gallorette Stakes on Saturday May 20th. With jockey John Velazquez in the saddle, the mare broke from post six out of a field of seven for the one and one sixteenth mile trip around the turf. The mare left the gate and found herself at the back of the pack, until she moved into the final turn. Here she worked her way from the two path toward the outside, navigating some traffic at the top of the stretch but racing well off the rail. As the field moved closer toward the finish, Velazquez pushed the mare more forward, rallying between two rivals in the last few seconds to finish two and three fourth lengths behind the leader. It was another very exciting finish for Bipartisanship. If you’ll remember, the mare had a similar finish in her last start, a one and one sixteenth mile allowance race at Keeneland in April. Congratulations to As One Racing and partners! We look forward to watching Bipartisanship in her next start!
