Bolivie to run in the Bourbonette Oaks
Thursday, March 23, 2023

The newest addition to As One Racing 1 Stables, Bolivie (IRE) is entered to run in the Bourbonette Oaks on Saturday, March 25th at Turfway Park. As One Racing 1, LLC is a new racing partnership based off of diversity and inclusion. Two of the co-founders are Runnymede's own CEO, Brutus J. Clay, and President Romain Malhouitre. As One Racing 1, LLC purchased shares in Bolivie from long time partner and friend of Runnymede, Haras d'Etreham, who retained ownership of half of the filly.

Bolivie is a three year old, striking chestnut filly by champion sprinter Exceed and Excel (AUS) and is out of Rip Van Winkle (IRE) mare Burma Sun (IRE). The filly was bred by Kildaragh Stud and was purchased by Haras d'Etreham at the 2020 Goff November Foal Sale for $110,000. Bolivie has had a great start to her racing career for Haras d'Etreham with a record of 6-1-2-0. Breaking her maiden in her career debut at Deauville in August, the filly has continued to prove she will be tough competition this weekend. Since the New Year, Bolivie has had two starts both of which resulted in second places. One was an allowance race at Pau and the second was the listed Prix de la Californie at Cagnes-sur-mer. Bolivie left France with $37,223 in earnings.

Since her arrival to the United States, the filly has been trained by multiple Graded Stakes winning, Brendan P. Walsh. Brendan was ranked 15th by earnings in North America in 2022 and is well known for training Grade 1 Winner Maxfield who now stands at stud at Darley America. Bolivie will be ridden by multiple graded stakes winning jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. Ortiz is an extremely accomplished jockey, earning the outstanding Jockey award four times since 2018. He is also highlighted for multiple Breeders' Cup wins as well as two wins in the Belmont Stakes.

Bolivie, as it stands, has 5-1 odds for Saturdays race. She will break from post two out of a strong field of ten other three year old fillies. Among this field is Botanical, owned by Clearsky Farms and LNJ Foxwoods. Botanical is trained by Brad Cox and has nearly $200,000 in earnings in her five starts. Post time for the one and one sixteenth mile stakes race is set for 5:43 PM. Good Luck to Bolivie and all of her connections on the American debut and a special good luck to As One Racing, 1 LLC on the first race with their new partnership.
