Runnymede Farm was proud to see Eunomia deliver a career-defining performance at Del Mar, where the 4-year-old filly captured the Grade I Clement L. Hirsch Stakes and earned a coveted “Win and You’re In” berth to the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Distaff at Keeneland this fall.
Eunomia shipped across the country from the East Coast and proved she belonged among the nation’s top older distaffers. She settled just off the pace before making her move in the stretch, battling gamely to secure her first Grade I victory.
The win was particularly special for Runnymede, as Eunomia was consigned by Runnymede Farm to the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, where she sold to Lothenbach Stables.
Eunomia is out of Speedy Vanessa, who was purchased by the Runnymede Farm partnership Breed First. Speedy Vanessa was later offered by Runnymede as agent for Breed First at the 2024 Keeneland November Sale, where she sold for $280,000 while carrying a foal by Yaupon.
Since leaving the Keeneland sales ring, Eunomia has continued to progress through the ranks. Following a runner-up finish in the Grade II Doubledogdare Stakes and a placing in the Grade III Royal Delta Stakes, she has now reached the highest level with her Grade I triumph at Del Mar.
Her victory puts Eunomia on the road to Keeneland for the 2026 Breeders’ Cup Distaff, where she will take on the country’s top older fillies and mares.
For Runnymede Farm, Eunomia’s success is another rewarding chapter in the story of a Runnymede graduate who has gone on to achieve racing’s highest level.
Congratulations to her owners, trainer Saffie Joseph Jr., jockey Flavien Prat, and everyone who has been part of Eunomia’s journey. We look forward to following her as she heads to Keeneland for the Breeders’ Cup!
