Goal Oriented wins the Grade 1 Malibu
Monday, January 5, 2026

Goal Oriented delivered a sensational performance in the Grade I Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita Park on December 28, capturing the first elite-level victory of his career in impressive fashion. Cutting back to seven furlongs, the son of Not This Time tracked the pace comfortably before unleashing a powerful run in the stretch, stopping the clock in 1:20.97. His effort earned a 108 Beyer Speed Figure, ranking him among the three fastest 3-year-olds of 2025.

Trained by Bob Baffert and ridden by Joel Rosario, Goal Oriented showed maturity and professionalism throughout the race, confidently putting away a quality field that included stablemate Midland Money in second. The Malibu Stakes has long been a proving ground for elite 3-year-olds, and Goal Oriented’s decisive victory underscored both his talent and continued progression as he steps into racing’s highest company.

Bred, raised and sold by Runnymede Farm LLC & CWC Investment 2 LLC, Goal Oriented is out of the accomplished graded stakes winner Bizzy Caroline, adding another top-level achievement to an already distinguished female family. His Grade I success represents a major milestone for his connections and further highlights the strength of his pedigree, with exciting opportunities now ahead as he continues his racing career.
