Koala Princess to Run in the G3 Lake George Stakes
Tuesday, July 19, 2022

Runnymede bred and raised Koala Princess is entered to run in the G3 Lake George Stakes for three-year-old fillies on Friday, July 22nd at Saratoga. Winner of 2 of her 3 starts and unfortunately hampered by a less than perfect trip in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, Koala Princess is a lovely & talented filly and it's exciting to see her getting ready to run again. She's been working steadily since May at Fair Hill and has recorded 2 bullet moves in her last 3 works, one of those recorded on dirt while breezing from the gate and one on the all-weather track.

Koala Princess had eight months off after her run in the 2021 Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies turf race, but trainer Arnaud Delacour is not concerned. "I think she’ll be fine. Last year when she ran, she was ready to fire right away. She’s not the kind of filly that needs a race," Delacour said. "I’ve been very happy with what she’s done in the morning. Her last three breezes were pretty impressive. That’s what it takes to run races like (the Lake George), and I’ve been pretty happy with what she’s done.”

Already a stakes winner who has demonstrated serious talent, Koala Princess drew post four and will be ridden by Trevor McCarthy in the one-mile turf race. She will be facing eight rivals on Friday. Among them are two stakes winners from Chad Brown's stable: G3 Florida Oaks winner Dolce Zel, who is also placed in two G2 events and Eminent Victor. Also entered is multiple G2-placed Skims, daughter of Frankel and trained by Shug McGaughey.

Koala Princess is owned in partnership with our friends Peter J. Callahan, Chris Zinkhan and John Oxley. Good Luck to our black beauty!
