Sum Kinda Pretty, the five year old Summer Front mare out of Pretty B found herself in the winner’s circle at Belterra after finishing 3/4L ahead in a one mile starter allowance on June 22^nd. The Sum Kinda Pretty was purchased for $25,000 at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale as a weanling in 2018 and sold for $120,000 to Steven Young at the September yearling sale the following year. Now owned and trained by Francisco Ramos, the bay has had five starts since the new year, with two wins and a third place to show for it. Under stout handling from jockey Brandon Tapara, Sum Kinda Pretty stuck to the inside for a majority of the race after breaking from post two, battling the one post along the way. Once in the stretch, there was a duel between the mare and her foe, but she ultimately was able to dig in and pull clear a quarter of a length ahead!
