Bred in partnership with Catesby W. Clay, Duke of Hazzard (FR), is entered to run in the Fasig Tipton Lure Stakes on Saturday, August 6th at Saratoga. After a triumphant second place in the Seek Again Stakes at Belmont in May, and a valiant effort in the Jonathan B. Schuster Memorial Stakes in July, Duke of Hazzard is ready to take on the field of eight for his third start of 2022. With jockey Jose Ortiz at the reins, the pair will break from post four for the one and one sixteenth mile trip around the turf. Working under trainer Wesley A. Ward, the six-year-old Lope De Vega (IRE) gelding out of With Your Spirit (FR) has put in one recorded workout since his arrival at Saratoga. Breezing five furlongs in 1:03.91 on Saturday, July 30th. Duke of Hazard will be running against strong competition. Saturday's lineup includes Somelikeithotbrown (Big Brown), winner of the 2021 Dinner Party Stakes (Gr. 2) at Pimlico and more recently finishing third in the 2021 Keeneland Turf Mile Stakes (Gr. 1) at Keeneland in November; Safe Conduct (Bodemeister), who finished second in the Monmouth Stakes (Gr. 3) in June; and Public Sector (Kingman (GB)), winner of the 2021 Hill Prince Stakes (Gr. 2) at Belmont in October, and most recently finished third in the Forbidden Apple Stakes (Gr. 3) at Saratoga in July.
