Vega Star found himself in the winner’s circle at Lyon Parilly on Monday, June 26^th!  The three-year-old colt by Lope de Vega out of With Your Spirit has been in training with Nicolas Clement since the start of his career in 2022. After finishing second in a handicap race in May, we were hoping the colt would be able to pull out a win for his tenth start and we were in luck! With jockey Stephane Pasquier, who was aboard the bay for his second place run in May, the colt broke from the gate wearing cloth 2 for the one-mile handicap. Vega Star found himself in the middle of the pack, stuck in a bit of a traffic jam until the final turn. Once in the home stretch the colt found an opening and under some coaxing from Pasquier, made a bid for the lead. It was a battle for the finish between the colt and three other foes, but ultimately Vega Star was able to pull ahead by a nose. Congratulations to all of his connections!
